Our second annual fundraiser of the year is the BeefFest.
Since 1976, we have cooked tons of delicious barbequed top sirloin beef for our customers. Over the years, the BeefFest has evolved from a male-only event to a family oriented event with pony rides, inflatable play structures, Blockheads (the Lego guy), face painting, balloon animals, revolutionary/civil war reenactors and remote control monster truck races. This year, we plan to add a special play area just for toddlers.
It's a vegetarian's nightmare!

Food and Beverage: Served 2:00 to 5:45 p.m.: Texas-Style BBQ Beef, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Rolls, Special Sauce, and Hot Dogs (on request for the kids). Beer, Mixed Beverages, Iced Tea, Lemonade, and Soft Drinks. All you can eat and all you can drink.
Ticket Availability: Lawrence Pharmacy, Holiday Motors, MRO Computers & Astronomy, Bill Robins CPA Office, West Service Center, the Deep Creek Ruritan website and any Deep Creek Ruritan member. Tickets purchased in advance are $35. Tickets purchased at the gate will be $40. Children may be admitted if accompanied by an adult with a ticket: 12 years old and under-No Charge; 13-17 years of age-Half Price; 18 years of age-Full Price.
Active Duty Military $5 Discount: This will apply to both active duty military personnel and spouse. On tickets sold to active duty military either in advance or at the gate, the military discount wording on the tickets should be circled.
Group Ticket Sales: Any group that purchases a block of 20 or more tickets will receive a $5 discount on each ticket. Any group that purchases a block of 10 tickets will receive a complimentary ticket.

Directions to Izaak Walton Park: Follow George Washington Highway from Interstate 64 or Military Highway south for approximately one mile. Cross the bridge over the Dismal Swamp Canal and proceed straight ahead to the intersection with Shipyard Road (Elementary School on left corner). Turn left onto Shipyard Road and proceed about 1 mile. Follow directional BeefFest signs through Brabble Shores neighborhood to the park entrance on your right.
