Special Fund Raisers held dedicated to assisting in emergency and tragic situations locally:

$5,000 to support police officer seriously wounded in a shoot-out in connection with a kidnapping/murder on George Washington Hwy. N. in Deep Creek. The officer almost certainly saved the lives of Deep Creek citizens. (2009)

$5,883 to support local elementary school student electrocuted & seriously injured. (2010)

$4,200 to support local family whose infant child died tragically. (2011)

$4,200 to help pay for the funeral of a 12 year old local middle school student who was a shooting victim following her tragic death in January 2012.

$3,861 to help local DCHS alum raise $10,000 for life saving heart surgery in Nov. 2015.

$7,000 to Deep Creek High School Boy's Baseball Team for equipment and uniforms.
Scholarships to Local Students: Each year a $4,000 scholarship is awarded to a local student. The student receives $1,000 per year for 4 years for college tuition and expenses.
Annual Golf Tournament with all funds raised and contributed to EDMARC, an organization that works with terminally ill children and their families. $5,000 in 2011, $4,500 in 2012, $4,000 in 2013 (in addition to arranging for a 3rd party donation of $5,000), $6,000 in 2014, $8,500 in 2015.
Annual Chicken Box Dinner (March) and BeefFest (September) involve many members, volunteers, and sponsors and enjoy tremendous community support resulting in over $20,000 raised annually to finance our community service projects.
Support of local Police Academy, V A Hospital and Vets, Clean the Bay Day, U S Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive (via Breakfast with Santa), CERT Team, Meals on Wheels, Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Boy & Girl Scout Troops, Drive Safe Hampton Roads Program, Chesapeake Recycling Program, Annual Veterans Health Fair, Local Youth Athletic Teams, and Adopt a Spot.
Chartered, sponsored, and supported “Ruri-teen Club” at Deep Creek High School
Awards Teacher of the Year, Police Officer of the Year, Firefighter of the Year, and Business of the Year.
Sponsors Small Business Seminars, Financial Planning/Income Tax Update Seminars, and Probate & Estate Planning Seminars.
V A Hospital Visits including bingo games and hot dogs for the vets. We traditionally serve over 200 vets at a picnic every July at the Hampton V A Hospital with barbequed chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, desserts, and the works.
Donations made to the Great Bridge Waterway Foundation; Chesapeake Crime Line; Deep Creek United Hunger Sponsorship; Virginia Special Olympics Program; Victims of Moore County Oklahoma Disaster; Chesapeake Police Academy Training and Police SWAT Team Training; Police Survivor Fund; Chesapeake Emergency Response Team (CERT); Deep Creek High School Girls Field Hockey Team; Deep Creek High School Chorus; Holy Angels Catholic Church, Deep Creek Baptist Church; Deep Creek United Methodist Church; and to the Chesapeake Humane Society.
National Night Out across from DCUMC sponsored annually in August with excellent participation from City government, local businesses, and community residents. Provided hot dogs & beverages.
